Overweight? Obese? You are not alone.
In 2014, the World Health Organisation statistics showed 1.9 billion adults classified as overweight, with 600 million patients being classified as obese. This amounts to 13% of the world’s adult population!
Obesity is a chronic problem, with patients frequently yo-yoing between their “thin “and “fat “wardrobe, constantly on and off of diets, gaining and losing weight in a viciously continuous cycle.
Obesity is associated with a negative health impact for affected patients. Quality of life and life expectancy are poorer. Cardiovascular risk surges, there is an increased risk of diabetes, high incidence of joint and skeletal pathologies, and increased risks of cancers such as breast and colon cancer.
Many patients with obesity suffer from metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is characterized by increased abdominal fat (apple shapes), high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and insulin resistance/diabetes (increased blood glucose).
Metabolic syndrome patients frequently find it difficult to lose weight. They are excluded from certain diet programmes, and exercise programs due to higher risk factors.
Our medically assisted weight loss program at TAHQ is a doctor-prescribed and monitored weight loss program designed to assist exactly this type of patient to decrease their weight.
The program is safe, with few exclusion criteria for patients.
The result is successful, reliable weight loss for patients, sustainable in the long term.
